North Point Lighthouse Charter School
North Point Lighthouse Charter School, located at 42nd Street and Douglas Avenue in Milwaukee, was completed in July of 2012 – in time for school to start in August. Berghammer Construction worked with developer Canyon-Agassi Charter School Facilities Fund and Plunkett Raysich Architects to convert an industrial manufacturing facility into an elementary school. Lighthouse Academies, Inc. has 15 locations nationwide and this was their first school in Milwaukee. The new school houses kindergarten through 4th grade, with future plans to expand to the high school level. In addition to completely remodeling the existing manufacturing facility, Berghammer added a mezzanine to create a second level of classrooms. This addition added 16,500 square feet to the existing 44,100 square feet of first floor.
