We are thrilled to share that the Berghammer team recently partnered with Quorum Architects, Inc. for the Women In Design MKE CANstruction event at the Milwaukee Public Museum. This year’s theme, “CAN’T FORGET THE MAGIC,” inspired us to bring a piece of the museum’s iconic Pacific Islands exhibit to life.
Taking a cue from Night at the Museum, we imagined what an ancient Easter Island sculpture might do when the lights go out. The canned food creation, “YUM YUM,” featured a Moai sculpture blowing a ramen noodle bubble. Built for maximum nutrition, the structure was composed of protein-rich tuna cans, engineered and stabilized between Masonite sheets.
Thanks to popular support, our sculpture won the “People’s Choice” award! The exhibit is open to the public through February 16. Following the event, all food items will be donated to the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Pantry. Thank you to our partners at Quorum, and everyone who volunteered their time and talents to make this project a “magical” success.
