Berghammer participated in Block Build MKE – a program of Revitalize Milwaukee. This community program brings together volunteers and community partners to transform multiple homes in a single neighborhood in one weekend.
For our selected home, Berghammer team and family members worked outside to rebuild the front porch stairs and railings, anchor and repair the back porch, and replace a worn fence and gate. We tackled overgrown brush and trees from the neighboring lot, spread new topsoil, and planted grass seed to give the yard a fresh start. We also replaced damaged siding and trim to prevent water infiltration, repaired downspouts, and attached new drainage extensions.
Inside, our crew replaced a rotted windowsill, decluttered the garage, checked and installed new smoke alarms, and installed grab bars and a new shower head in the bathroom. It was our great pleasure to work together and give this home a makeover. Big thanks to all our volunteers!
