The Berghammer Café

After asking what was on our employees’ wish lists to improve their work environment, Berghammer went to work creating a new café for our office staff to eat lunch, gather, and enjoy some time away from their desks. The modern industrial-inspired design is accented by pieces like a vintage Berghammer sign and pages of labor rates dating back to 1929. The sliding door was custom-made from salvaged hundred-year-old barn wood and hardware, and even the burlap sacks on the wall serve a purpose, absorbing sound to reduce the echo. In addition to the new café, a mother’s room was also added to provide a comfortable, private place for employees upon returning to work from maternity leave.
