With 22 years of experience, Jim Gonzalez joins the Berghammer team as Superintendent. His first two assignments are the additions at the Guest House of Milwaukee Inc. and Midland Plastics Inc. in New Berlin. Jim was previously with J.H. Findorff.
Vice President, Operations
Tim Just has been promoted to Vice President, Operations. Tim leads jobsite operations from pre-construction to closeout and commissioning. He has more than four decades of experience managing complex construction activities. Some of Tim’s major efforts include mold prevention programs, occupational safety and subcontractor management and selection, Berghammer Quality Control program and works close with our project managers and superintendents, keeping projects in budget and on time. Tim has served as President of the Associated General Contractors of Greater Milwaukee, AGC GM Labor Policy Vice Chair, and ACEA BOMED Vice President.
Assistant Project Manager
A 2011 graduate of the University of Michigan with a BS in Civil Engineering, Beverly Smith recently joined the Berghammer Medical Group as Assistant Project Manager, initially assigned to the Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center GI and SICU renovations. Beverly spent the first three years of her career at Johnson Controls.
Joseph T. Schmit, PE
Vice President, Construction
Joseph Schmit has been promoted to Vice President, Construction. Joe will effectively lead Berghammer’s Senior Living initiative, supported by many talented people already serving us in this market sector. Joe holds both a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Masters of Business Administration from Marquette University and is a Registered Professional Engineer. With over 30 years of experience, Joe’s recent projects have focused on the senior living and multi-family markets, including the challenges of expanding existing occupied facilities and working on congested sites. Joe’s senior living projects have included Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, Therapy/Rehab and Community/Wellness.
Matt Iwanski, PE, LEED AP, Associate
Senior Project Manager
Matt Iwanski has been promoted to Senior Project Manager. This acknowledges Matt’s hard work and dedication to his projects; especially to the clients he has served. With 11 years of experience at Berghammer Construction, his projects range from multi-phased renovations to new construction. Included in these projects, Matt has held additional leadership roles as the LEED Administrator of LEED Certified and LEED Silver projects. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering: Construction Engineering and Management Option, from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
