Berghammer Announces Vice President of Business Development
Berghammer Construction Corporation welcomes Kim DeWitt as Vice President of Business Development. As client liaison, Kim will be responsible for developing and maintaining new and existing relationships, as well as building strategies to generate profitable opportunities in new markets as Berghammer continues to grow its market presence in Southeastern Wisconsin.
Kim’s background is in commercial interiors and facility planning, where she’s worked with companies to provide facility solutions tailored to achieve business goals and growth objectives. She’s spent the last ten years in commercial construction serving customers in corporate, retail, higher education, industrial and healthcare sectors, with her most recent experience at Tri-North Builders and The Boldt Company.
“Kim is a seasoned business development professional who will add experience to our expanding outreach for increased market share,” remarked Berghammer President, Leif Nesheim.
Kevin White returns to Berghammer as Senior VP and Shareholder
Kevin is returning to Berghammer after ten years with Fiduciary Real Estate Development where he led the growth of Fiduciary’s construction division. He began his career at Berghammer and was a ten year veteran prior to leaving for FRED. “Kevin has come back home to Berghammer as a shareholder and elevates our presence and credibility in multi-family senior living and wood frame construction,” said Berghammer President, Leif Nesheim. Berghammer Construction is thrilled to have Kevin back. “It is an amazing opportunity to become a partner,” says Kevin. “It’s a great opportunity to combine my commercial and multifamily construction backgrounds to help grow and diversify Berghammer Construction.”
Werner Holentunder Joins Berghammer as Senior Vice President – Construction
Werner has more than 25 years of construction experience in a variety of settings, beginning his career as an apprentice carpenter, progressing to master journeyman carpenter, project superintendent and then project manager, supervising projects for more than 15 years before founding his own construction firm with two partners. Werner brings the strength of his extensive field experience, as well as his management skills to his projects. His standards of excellence that enabled him to become a master journeyman carpenter have carried over to his expectations for every project he undertakes.
“Werner possesses significant experience in the areas of field management and operations,” said Jim Parks, Executive Vice President of Berghammer Construction. “He understands the structure required for a project to operate efficiently and profitably. Berghammer Begins Addition to the Guest House
Berghammer is currently performing extensive renovations and constructing an addition at the Guest House of Milwaukee. The addition is a two story wood structure with a full basement and elevator. The exterior of the building will be clad in fiber cement siding. Located in the King Park neighborhood, the Guest House provides shelter, housing, education and services to the homeless who seek to transform their lives with dignity and purpose. Berghammer Breaks Ground on Zilber I at Ridgeview
Berghammer is the general contractor for the construction of a 113,000-square-foot distribution facility. Zilber Property Group, the owner of the plot of land, is building a speculative, precast, multi-tenant facility in the Ridgeview Development in Pewaukee. Eppstein Uhen Architects has designed a class A industrial facility available to be divided into two separate spaces.

With 22 years of experience, Jim Gonzalez joins the Berghammer team as Superintendent. His first two assignments are the additions at the Guest House of Milwaukee Inc. and Midland Plastics Inc. in New Berlin. Jim was previously with J.H. Findorff.

Joseph Schmit has been promoted to Vice President, Construction. Joe will effectively lead Berghammer’s Senior Living initiative, supported by many talented people already serving us in this market sector. Joe holds both a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Masters of Business Administration from Marquette University and is a Registered Professional Engineer. With over 30 years of experience, Joe’s recent projects have focused on the senior living and multi-family markets, including the challenges of expanding existing occupied facilities and working on congested sites. Joe’s senior living projects have included Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, Therapy/Rehab and Community/Wellness.
